When is 191-2 Not Enough? When it's the United Nations and Cuba

"Once again, the United States and Israel voted against the motion to end economic sanctions. The United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of lifting the blockade against Cuba Tuesday, with only the U.S. and Israel voting against.

The initiative has been backed by the majority of members for the last 23 years."

UN Votes in Favor of Ending Cuban Blockade 191-2

Economic sanctions are intended to hurt the economy of targeted nations.  During the first Cold War, Cuba as a Communist nation allied with the Soviet Union, was targeted with economic sanctions and blockades as a war action.

Sanctions hurt the regular people most.  The psychopaths that run our country use sanctions as part of their overall mafia style operations to weaken other countries and governments with the INTENDED goal of making the regular people suffer in hopes they will rise up and help the U.S. overthrow their own government.  It's a sick, insidious game, even evil.

"Moments before the vote took place, the U.S. representative to the U.N. declared that his country would vote against lifting the sanctions, saying that it was unfortunate that Cuba had presented a motion that was “almost identical” to the one the year before.

His speech followed that of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, who demanded that the U.S. end the “flagrant, massive and systematic violation of human rights of all Cubans” by terminating the half-century financial and economic blockade.

Rodriguez pointed out the company Electra refused to supply Cuban hospitals with cancer drugs.
“The embargo is a flagrant, massive and systematic violation of human rights of all Cubans,” he said. “It is contrary to international law … It has been described as an act of genocide.”

The United States and Israel, Israel and the United States.

So when is 191-2 not enough?  When it's the United Nations.  And when the ruling classes of two countries have so much power that the rest of the world can't do shit about.

"For the last three years, 188 of the 193 members have voted in favor of Cuba, with the United States and Israel being persistent exceptions. The decision must be unanimous in order for the measure to be passed."

  1. Greetings,
98.9% of the international community wants the blockade lifted. If the US government really believed in democracy, the blockade never would have been imposed in the first place! This government uses words like democracy, human rights, liberties and justice for all only to exploit people.
That is why we must protest permanently and peacefully for immediate Puerto Rico decolonization. After 34 UN resolutions asking for that, and ignored by the US government, everyone should be convinced that it doesn’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

    1. Amen Jose. The U.S. government and it's ruling class are predators and they won't stop. Free Puerto Rico! Thanks for the comment and the heads up about your cause, which is now my cause. I'll do my best to get the word out for Puerto Rico decolonization. Peace to you.
