Beware the Green New Deal

This is an important article imo regarding the big picture behind the Green New Deal.  Another article follows regarding a specific part of the GND.

The Green New Deal is simply not a movement of the people, nor has it ever been. Rather, it has been purposely created by the same global elite that started Sustainable Development in the first place, namely, by members of the Trilateral Commission and the Club of Rome working through the auspices of the United Nations Environmental Programme.

Proponents of the controversial “Green New Deal” demand that the U.S. install technology to create “Smart Cities,” which include utility “Smart” Meters.  This makes climate change worse because “Smart” Meter technology has been proven to require more energy use which then increases the emissions of harmful Electrosmog pollution.  Not only that, the need for frequent replacement of these meters adds to electronic waste in landfills as well as mining for more polluting conflict minerals.

Is Voting for National Politicians Dangerous?

Here's an article by Eric Zuesse opining "Why Calling U.S. a "Democracy" is both False and Dangerous to Do."

https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/03/15/why-calling-us-democracy-both-false-dangerous-do.html

Zuesse is one of the few who keeps the hammer down on this important issue, democracy.  He rightly explains how we don't live in a democracy and explains how it's actually dangerous to say so.

"Every time that the US perpetrates a coup (such as it’s trying now to do against Venezuela) or a military invasion (such as it did to Iraq 2003 and Libya 2011 and Syria 2012- and to Yemen 2015-, and many others) the US regime and its propagandists call it an action ‘for humanitarian purposes’, and for regime-change ‘to bring democracy and human rights’ to that country, and it’s always lies, which wouldn’t even be believed by anyone who knows that the US itself is actually a dictatorship, which it is. So, the lie of calling the US a ‘democracy’ is actually okaying a lying dictatorship by using, for it, the term “democracy,” which this particular dictatorship chooses to refer to itself, for PR purposes.
Calling the US a ‘democracy’ is to support this government that the entire world (in the only polls that have been done of the matter) recognizes to be the most aggressive and dangerous regime on Earth. To smear the good name of “democracy” that way, by calling the world’s most rapacious Government a ‘democracy’, is to assist in corroding that high term of praise, “democracy,” and turning it instead into an insult, which applies to what is actually the globally recognized most aggressive and dangerous nation on this planet."
I've thought that for some time, that if we should form an independent movement for democracy and expose the lies and illusions we've all lived with our entire lives.  We can't make the changes we need with this political system, ruled by the rich.  Any type of valid response to climate change, a nationalized health care system, save Social Security, ending U.S. imperialism, etc., will not happen through this duopoly political system.  Just look at the time they're wasting now, with a democratic party majority in Congress, while not addressing anything of substance to help the bottom 80%, except a pay raise for themselves.
So if it's dangerous to call this a democracy, is it also dangerous to participate in this fraud of an election process between the two oligarchy controlled political parties?  Isn't that also providing legitimacy to the ruling class system and smear the good name of elections?

Toward an Unknown World

What's wrong with this picture?  Better yet, someone tell me there isn't something wrong with this picture.  I'm not sure many would or could do that.  And that should tell us something.  It's wrong, we know it's wrong, should we try to stop it?

Seriously?

Your Tax Dollars at Work in the Federal Government

There's an article up detailing how the Pentagon spent $4.6 million in lobster tails and crab in one month.

"The federal government spends a disproportionate amount of its budget for outside contractors in the final month of the fiscal year, as agencies rush to blow through cash before it’s too late. Among the more noteworthy expenditures in 2018, according to the watchdog group Open the Books, was $4.6 million for lobster tail and crab.

Such use-it-or-lose-it spending stems from the fact that each federal agency is given a certain amount of money it can spend on outside contractors for the fiscal year. If the agency comes in under budget, Congress might decide to appropriate less money the following year."
That's exactly how it works.  I worked for the federal government for thirty years (thirty years in the hole!).  I remember one time when working in West Germany for the Department of the Army, I learned that the recreation department on the base I worked at spent $100K on softballs in September of whatever year it was (1986?).  I was a position classification specialist which included researching information about jobs, organizations, etc., that's how I came by that information. They explained to me the "use it or lose it" budgeting approach and how every organization made sure they burned through their budget at the end of the fiscal year, if they hadn't already.  It was certainly nothing new then, over 30 years ago, so it's been going on for many decades.
Maybe we could just abolish September?  Nah, they'd just do the same thing in August.  It would be a shame to bring common sense to the federal budget process, that would throw everything out of whack.

Ted Rall - 8 Ways to Fix the Presidential Elections, or "Wait, Why Do We Need a President?

Ted Rall, political cartoonist/commentator, has an article up suggesting 8 ways to fix the "messed up" presidential elections.  One of them is to lower the age limit from 35 to any age so his favorite politician, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can be his president.

He even offers France as one way to fix our "mess".

"U.S.-style political TV ads are banned in France. No matter how small their party, each candidate gets a small number of official statements on the air. In the second-round general election, the airtime of each candidate is exactly equal.  Like France, we can and should limit campaign spending to give new and outside voices an equal chance at getting their opinions out to voters."
Wait a minute, aren't citizens in France protesting with yellow vests on because they don't live in a democracy?   Don't they have a president named Macron who thinks he's a fucking dictator and that almost everyone hates.?  Wasn't the one before that a guy named Hollande who was one of the most unpopular French presidents in history?

Ya, good idea Ted, let's be like France.  Maybe be like France and elect AOC for president, right Ted?  Let her write us some good Executive Orders and fix our "mess".  Maybe AOC can be just like Macron.

https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/03/13/8-ways-to-fix-americas-messed-up-presidential-elections/

There must be something wrong with me.  I keep thinking of really stupid questions like, "Why do we need a President?", and "Maybe having one person with that much power needs to be debated and other options considered"?  Or, "Why can't Trump be the last straw?"

But I'm pissing against the wind on that one.  Humans seems to have one way to roll, with a supreme being over them somehow, someway, from God on down.  Unfortunately, following someone off a cliff still has appeal even though single people, usually men, with power over countries have been one of human's biggest problems throughout their brief history on this planet.

Maybe the missing link is actually the lemming.

AOC is an Actress Hired for a Role. That's What We've Become

Check out this video.  This has been going around for awhile but this guy summarizes the issues pretty well.  Evidently Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is nothing more than an actress chosen from a major casting call by the Justice Democrats to perform as a Congressional representative.  Basically everything she says in formal settings is based on a script provided to her by her handlers.  That's why when she goes off script, or is forced to speak off-script, she sounds so fucking naïve and ill informed.

I can just hear her progressive supporters justifying this.  Obviously this isn't democracy.  How is this any different than the billionaires using their money to hire their own politicians?  The Justice Democrats used a corrupt and rigged system to place their own representative in Congress who is now following their direction.

Check out the part about the Green New Deal, pretty funny.  Around the 4 minute mark.  It proves what some of us said from the beginning, this wasn't AOC's Green New Deal as the media and progressives try to make it out to be, she had nothing to do with it.  She is simply the mouthpiece for those that hired her.

I don't know, this is actually pretty sickening. Maybe it's not so different from business as usual in our vaunted political system.  But it's another reason why we the people need to get together and not just demand, but force democracy in this country. If not, we're all just props in a giant movie we have no say in whatsoever.
